Woman's Day Magazine and AOL Team Up to Find Out What Women Really Want

NEW YORK, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Do women really want to hear when they look fat or want a hug when they have a bad day? The July issue of Woman's Day magazine highlights findings from the latest Woman's Day/AOL survey, "What we wish men knew," an in-depth look at what today's women think about the opposite sex, intimate relationships, and what they really mean when they say they're "fine."

Woman's Day and AOL surveyed over 1500 women nationwide and found: When women ask "Does this make me look fat?" they really want to hear: * his opinion, that's why I asked. (65%) * they want to hear a resounding "no." Tell me I'm beautiful no matter what I am wearing.(35%) After a bad day, all women want is: * for him to give me a hug (54%) * to have him listen to my problems, without trying to solve them (21%) * say for him make dinner and put the kids to bed (18%) * say for him to fix me a drink (7%) When you tell him you're "fine," what you really mean is ... . * say I want to talk about what's bothering me, even if I say I don't (43%) * say I'm not fine, and no, I don't want to talk about it (34%) * say I'm good, thanks for asking (23%) When asked what's missing most from their relationship: * 35% of women say physical intimacy -- holding hands, kissing * 27% say conversation * 22% say time alone * 16% say they couldn't ask for a more fulfilling relationship When it comes to their sex lives: * 31% of women say it's nonexistent * 26% say still hot and steamy * 25% say it's great, but doesn't compare with our first years together * 18% say they'd rather crawl in bed with a good book Women want men to help out around the house by: * taking out the trash (31%) * cooking (30%) * doing laundry (23%) * don't bother, they'd rather do the chores themselves (16%) Women think men look most attractive dressed in: * a jeans and T-shirt is the most attractive look for men (48%) * a uniform: firefighter, police office, whatever (20%) * a business suit (20%) * nothing at all (12%) What do women want in a husband? * They would rather be with a man who is poor and attractive than rich and unattractive. (64%) * They would rather marry a man that makes them laugh like Will Ferrell. (54%) * They would prefer to marry a man who has washboard abs like Matthew McConaughey. (10%)
